Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Sam Forster is a musician whose musical output has covered many styles from Jazz, Blues and Pop to Musical Theatre and Orchestral music. Sam moved to London in 2025 after earning his Masters of jazz performance at Conservatoirum Maastricht in the Netherlands. There, he studied with Joachim Schoenecker, Doug Weiss and Eran Har Even, developing a deeper sense of musical identity and command over his instrument.
During this time, Sam performed with internationally acclaimed artists including John Beasley, Kika Sprangers, Andrea Motis and Eric Vloeimans, while also leading his own projects. Career highlights include appearing with his quintet at the Perth International Jazz Festival and touring with the Jong Metropole and touring with Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys.
Now based in London, Sam brings together years of international touring, an extensive background in musical theatre—including Grease, Mamma Mia! and Sweet Charity—and pop music from his 6 year cover band residency in Perth. Sam's current artistic focus is on launching his own band that performs New Orleans Funk and blues focused music, this is alongside his solo work and jazz quartet.
